A crew of 14 scouts from Troop 598 boarded the USS Turner Joy for an overnight stay. Our color guard attended to the flag lowering and raising ceremonies. After stowing their gear in the sleeping berths, the scouts were given a detailed and informative tour throughout the Vietnam-era destroyer made famous for firing the the first Navy’s volley during the Tonkin Gulf incident, and the final shots marking the cease of naval action.
